Branded .GIF stickers for Instagram

Your brand is basically your reputation. Branding is what you do to influence that reputation.

Drew York is a street artist and muralist living in Milwaukee. As a street artist, he has what is essentially a logo: the pirate rabbit. That is his mark. When you see a pirate rabbit stenciled or wheat pasted, that is Drew. Other than getting up in the streets, Drew’s main outlet for brand marketing is his Instagram. How can Drew give his followers, buyers, and fans a little extra delight? Instagram stickers.

So here’s how I Salt Bae’d the shit out his brand.

For most of the stickers, I started with his original art. The original would simply become one frame among a sequence. I just had to draw out the rest of the sequence frame-by-frame to meet up back to the original frame, making a loop.

Drew uses the stickers when sharing his art, adding a sprinkle of legitness—how many other artists have their own stickers?
His fans and buyers use the stickers when sharing their purchases—adding a little extra fun engagement between Drew and his audience.
Do you think that little bit of extra fun and connection has a positive or negative influence on Drew’s reputation in the minds of his audience?
